Dr. Aaron Molen received his Bachelors degree in Zoology from BYU and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University. After completing his initial eight years of undergraduate and dental education Dr. Aaron completed a rigorous three-year orthodontic residency at UCLA where he served as chief resident of the program.
While completing his residency Dr. Aaron concurrently earned a Masters Degree in Oral Biology from UCLA. His Masters research focused on using 3-D x-rays to improve the treatment of patients with cleft palates. Dr. Aaron is an internationally recognized expert on the subject of 3-D x-rays, also known as maxillofacial cone-beam computed tomography. He’s given over a dozen lectures on the subject in such exotic locales as Shanghai, China and Herradura, Costa Rica; in addition to being invited to give two lectures at the upcoming national meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists in Boston. In addition to his speaking engagements Dr. Aaron maintains a popular website on the subject, www.3DOrthodontist.com, and travels back to Los Angeles monthly to lecture to the UCLA orthodontic residents. Dr. Aaron is the youngest doctor to be offered a faculty position in the history of the prestigious UCLA orthodontic department.
Dr. Aaron maintains professional memberships in the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, International Association of Dento-Maxillo-Facial Radiology, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Bruce Molen is living a father’s dream having the opportunity to work together with his two sons. He says, “I am so proud of both Dr. Aaron and Dr. Rick. When I started Molen Orthodontics 35 years ago, I would have never imagined getting the opportunity to practice together with not only one, but two of my sons. I am excited to come to work each and every day!”
Dr. Aaron was born in Seattle and graduated from Auburn Senior High School. He has been married to his beautiful wife Melody for over 8 years. They live in Lakeland Hills with their two-year old daughter Kaya, and their two cats, Cody and Sammy. A little known fact about Dr. Aaron is that he is fluent in Tagalog, a Filipino dialect. In his free time, Dr Aaron enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, and tinkering with computers.
